Restaurant, courtyard & gallery

Dalan · Abovyan 12

Lunch surrounded by art

12 Abovyan Street

Dalan combines an Armenian meal with a visit to an art gallery. Our visit note describes the entrance through a souvenir shop, a wall of decorated plates and a vine-covered courtyard. Choose it when you want time to explore a place as well as sit down for lunch.

Before you go. Ask whether your table will be in the courtyard or indoors. Check the gallery’s opening hours separately if you plan to visit it.

Catalogue estimate for two: 9 500 ֏Historical estimate; current bill depends on your order.

From our visit note

Dalan Art Gallery Abovyan 12 — I think this is the best restaurant for your first day in Yerevan: classic Armenian cooking surrounded by art. A huge wall of painted plates and paintings, a vine-covered courtyard with a stage and a dovecote, and the calling card — you come in through a souvenir shop! Give yourself enough time to take in the beauty and the atmosphere of this wonderful place and, above all, don't rush. You can sit in the courtyard (fair warning: the courtyard tables go first) or upstairs in the mansion itself, with its huge ceilings and fireplaces. That is also where the Dalan Art Gallery is, showing work by contemporary Armenian artists.

Tables and carpets at Megerian Restaurant

Restaurant at a cultural centre

Megerian Carpet Restaurant

Carpets, a museum & Armenian food

9 Madoyan Street

Megerian offers a reason to make a dedicated trip: its restaurant belongs to a carpet-weaving cultural centre. The centre’s website describes a manufacturing facility, an antique carpet museum and an Armenian restaurant. Plan it as a craft-focused visit followed by lunch; museum access and guided tours may have different arrangements.

Before you go. Arrange the tour, language, time and price in advance if you want to explore the centre. A table reservation does not itself confirm a tour.

Catalogue estimate for two: 8 000 ֏Historical estimate; current bill depends on your order.

No saved menu on Dish.am yet. Confirm current dishes and prices with the venue.

Kamancha venue photograph

Armenian restaurant with music

Kamancha

Tonir baking & live music

23 Tumanyan Street

Kamancha suits an evening built around Armenian food and music. Its official website describes national cuisine, live performances and lavash baked in a tonir. This guide refers to the Tumanyan Street venue: confirm that address when choosing your table, as the name may appear at other locations.

Before you go. Ask for the programme on your date and your table’s position relative to the stage. If conversation is the priority, ask about seating farther from the music.

Catalogue estimate for two: 4 500 ֏Historical estimate; current bill depends on your order.

Little Bali Restaurant venue photograph

Little Bali

Indonesian food by the Cascade

1 Tamanyan Street

Consider Little Bali when you want a different cuisine after a walk around the Cascade. Its Indonesian specialisation and Tamanyan Street address appear in the Pages.am business directory and match our catalogue. The photograph shows woven furniture and decorative interior details. We do not have a saved menu, so we do not promise particular dishes or spice levels.

Before you go. Request the current menu before visiting. Ask the restaurant about spice levels, sauce ingredients and the availability of dishes you want.

Catalogue estimate for two: 4 500 ֏Historical estimate; current bill depends on your order.

No saved menu on Dish.am yet. Confirm current dishes and prices with the venue.

Future Diner venue photograph

Vegan restaurant-bar

Future Diner

Plant-based food at the centre

25 Mesrop Mashtots Avenue

Future Diner describes itself on its official website as a vegan restaurant-bar. It is an option for a group specifically looking for a plant-based format. The site lists burger, salad, pizza and pasta sections, but their current prices have not yet been saved in our catalogue. A plant-based menu does not automatically exclude all allergens; discuss dietary restrictions separately.

Before you go. Check the venue’s current menu; if you have an allergy, confirm ingredients and preparation arrangements directly with the staff.

Catalogue estimate for two: 5 500 ֏Historical estimate; current bill depends on your order.

Smash-burger kiosk

IYKYK

A stop at a white-and-orange kiosk

46/3 Isahakyan Street

IYKYK serves a different purpose: a food stop during a walk. Our photographs and visit note show the white-and-orange kiosk on Isahakyan Street. The saved menu lets you compare the SINGLE smash burger and sides. It is a compact format, so check seating before planning a long dinner with a large group.

Before you go. This guide selects the Isahakyan Street location. Confirm the branch when ordering or arranging a meeting.

Catalogue estimate for two: 6 500 ֏Historical estimate; current bill depends on your order.

From our visit note

A smash burger place in the city centre. I would call it a dopamine island in every sense: a small white-and-orange kiosk that looks like it came out of the world of The Fifth Element. The burgers taste close to a McDonald's cheeseburger, so if you have been missing that franchise, IYKYK is worth the trip. There are several branches around town: on Isahakyan, on Saryan and one by the American University.

Malkhas Jazz Club venue photograph

Jazz club

Malkhas Jazz Club

An evening built around live jazz

52/1 Pushkin Street

Malkhas is included as a separate music-led format. Yerevan’s official tourism website describes it as a jazz club associated with Levon Malkhasyan. Plan your evening around a performance. The club’s name does not guarantee a particular musician on your date; check the current programme, entry arrangements and kitchen hours.

Before you go. Before booking, confirm the performers, start time, entry and ordering arrangements. If dinner is your main goal, ask about the kitchen separately.

Catalogue estimate for two: 12 000 ֏Historical estimate; current bill depends on your order.

No saved menu on Dish.am yet. Confirm current dishes and prices with the venue.

What to check before booking

Start with the experience you want: a gallery visit, a museum, dinner with music or a quick food stop. Then confirm the branch, table location and programme on your date. Ask separately about service charges, deposits and admission terms if an event is planned.

The descriptions use the sources linked beside each place, catalogue records, existing photographs and, for Dalan and IYKYK, our original visit notes and videos. Reviewing those materials is not a new visit. Average bills are catalogue estimates, and a saved menu is not a guarantee of today’s price. The selection is not exhaustive.

Planning your visit

Where should I go for an unusual Armenian meal?
Consider Dalan for its gallery and courtyard, Megerian for a meal at a carpet-weaving cultural centre, or Kamancha for Armenian food and music. Arrange museum visits and performances separately from your table booking.
Which places suit a short stop?
IYKYK is a smash-burger kiosk on Isahakyan Street. Future Diner offers a vegan restaurant-bar format. Choose according to the time you have and check seating and current opening hours.
Do all seven places have a full restaurant format?
No. The selection includes restaurants, a burger kiosk and a jazz club. Malkhas is for a music-led evening; check kitchen hours and entry arrangements before planning dinner there.
Are the displayed prices current?
Average bills are historical catalogue estimates for two, not a quoted price for your visit. Dish prices come from saved menus and may change. Confirm the current menu, service charge and any event conditions with the venue.
How were these places selected?
Each place has a specific reason to visit: art, carpet weaving, Armenian music, Indonesian food, a vegan menu, a distinctive kiosk or live jazz. We checked venue sources and existing Dish.am material. Their order is editorial and is not a ranking by review score.
