Privacy Policy

Dish.am is a voice-first restaurant aggregator covering 1,665 venues across Yerevan, Dilijan, Gyumri and Vanadzor. We built the platform with privacy as infrastructure, not afterthought. Your voice never leaves your device. We don't sell data, run tracking pixels, or inject third-party advertising. This policy explains exactly what happens when you search.

Voice Processing

When you press the microphone button, Dish.am uses the Web Speech API built into your browser. Speech-to-text conversion happens entirely on your device — Chrome, Safari or Firefox processes the audio locally. We never receive, store or transmit voice recordings. Only the text transcript of your query is sent to our servers for restaurant matching.

Text Queries and AI Processing

Your text transcript (whether typed or voice-converted) is sent to Anthropic Claude AI via secure API to interpret intent and match restaurants. Claude processes the query but does not store conversation data for model training. We keep server logs for 30 days to troubleshoot errors, then purge them. No personal identifiers are attached to queries.

Conversation History

Chat threads are stored in your browser's local storage, not on our servers. Clear your browser data and the history disappears. We cannot retrieve past conversations because we never received them. This architecture means zero data retention risk on our end, but also means you lose history if you switch devices or clear cache.

No Tracking, No Ads

Dish.am does not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any third-party tracking scripts. We don't run display advertising or affiliate links. No cookies track you across sites. We collect anonymous aggregate metrics (total searches per day, popular cuisine filters) via server logs to improve the restaurant database, but these cannot be traced to individuals.

GDPR Compliance

Dish.am is designed to meet General Data Protection Regulation standards. You have the right to access, correct or delete any personal data we hold — which is functionally none, since queries are ephemeral and history is client-side. If you believe we inadvertently collected personal information, contact [email protected] and we will investigate within 72 hours.

Policy Updates
